With the advancement of the medical field, many treatment processes that were done differently in past times have changed a lot. Earlier the act of drawing blood from the vein was done by cutting the vein of the patients, but now by using health needles, this process is done, which is also called as phlebotomy in medical terminology.
There are a lot of people, who want to become a phlebotomist and therefore taking training in this particular area of study. In phlebotomy training the students are given complete phlebotomy information, such as on human anatomy, needle technique, creating patient rapport, medical safety and processes of keeping record etc. Moreover, the students go under academic as well as practical training on handling several medical equipments such as containers for collecting biohazardus waste containers and biohazardus-spill kits, dermal puncture devices, syringes of various sizes, vacuum tubes, blood-culture bottles, bandages and tape, tourniquets, locking arm rests, and so on. Similar to any other technical or medical training, phlebotomy training can be obtained for four year bachelor’s degree or a two year associate’s degree in it as well.
