The Yellow Ribbon has come to symbolize the EDSA Revolution and the Aquino Legacy. Propaganda masters and opinion twisters repeat again and again that Corazon Aquino restored democracy and her husband fought and died for it. They failed to acknowledge the more important military elements whose support is indispensable during the first EDSA revolution. Opinions twisters led by Conrado de Quiros promote the notion that Noynoy has no choice but to do well and continue the Aquino Legacy. However, Noynoy did not really inherit a clean yellow ribbon symbolizing democracy but a ribbon stained with blood and he added more stain last November 14, 2006 – see noynoy hacienda luisita.

The yellow ribbon is as bright canary yellow after Aquino assumed office in 1986. Everyone expected that the ribbon would remain yellow for the next six years, but one year into her administration the ribbon got soaked in blood. I am referring to the Mendiola Massacre where a group of farmers demanded explanation from the Aquino government why the redistribution of farms including Hacienda Luisita did not materialize. These farmers armed with nothing but posters were shot to death in the tragedy that followed – see noynoy hacienda luisita .

When the stains started to fade away, another tragedy hit and that is the Hacienda Luisita Massacre, an incident that claimed the life of
17 innocent people including two children. Cory Aquino, the commander-in-chief during Mendiola, did not participate directly in the killings, but evidence show that her son did. According to credible eyewitness reports, two of Noynoy Aquino’s bodyguards were seen at the scene of the massacre and at the Union office which was torched down a day after. Who ordered them to be in those places? – Their master, Noynoy Aquino. He soaked the yellow ribbon in blood again. However, he soaked it much longer.
